Hartford’s venture in Governing for
Results was initiated in 2005.
Governing for Results enables
the City to be more responsive to
what constituents want, find better
and more cost-effective ways to
deliver City services, proactively
identify and prevent waste,
corruption or fraud, and hold City
officials accountable for the best
use of tax dollars. The Office of
Management & Budget, under the
direction of the Chief Operating
Officer, worked with all City
departments to develop strategies
and objectives in the
Budget process to meet the
Mayor’s five over-arching goals:
1.
Hartford is a safe city
2.
Hartford residents realize
their highest potential in social,
work
and community life
3.
Hartford enjoys a robust economy and
thriving neighborhoods
4.
Hartford is a clean and healthy city
5.
Hartford government is operationally
sound and financially healthy
