Public Broadcasting celebrates new headquarters
September
29, 2003
Connecticut Public
Broadcasting is transforming an Asylum Avenue office building,
vacant since 1997, into a $12 million new corporate headquarters.
On-hand for the official groundbreaking ceremony (shown bleow) were,
from left, Asylum Hill residents Sabrina Flintroy, Ely Enrique and
Jennifer Cassidy; Harry Freeman, HEDC executive director; Jerry
Franklin, president and CEO, Connecticut Public Broadcasting; Hartford
Mayor Eddie Perez; and Coleman Levy, CPB legal counsel.

In addition
to the planned renovation of an existing building, Connecticut Public
Broadcasting is building in an adjacent lot a 5,600-square-foot
building that will house two state-of-the-art television studios.
Connecticut Public Broadcasting expects to move into its new facility
in August 2004.
Connecticut
Public Broadcasting is currently located on the Trinity College
campus; Trinity is purchasing that portion of the campus from CPB
for $10 million.
