Elizabeth Park is located two-and-one-half miles from the city center, along Asylum Avenue. The park is divided into two portions by Prospect Avenue, which separates Hartford from West Hartford. The East Lawn comprises 19 acres of open space with a treed border, while the West Hartford section consists of 82 acres and contains diversified elements. Elizabeth Park is the first municipally owned rose garden in the U.S. More than 900 varieties and 14,000 rose bushes are displayed during the summer months. Outdoor concerts during warm weather.
