For Kids 8-12. Sessions are 2 weeks in length, depending on the location. Arts & crafts, swimming & field trips, sports, cultural & educational activities. Participants must wear sneakers, bring swimming gear (including a towel) & dress comfortably. Lunch is served through the summer lunch program, Pre-registration is required. There is limited enrollment, so selections are made on a first come, first served basis. Call 543-8876 for application.

Blue Hills, Willie Ware & K D Anderson Recreation Center

All swimmers must obey rules. Wear your own swimming suit. Bring your own towel. Bathing caps not required. Swimming lessons certification available from beginner - swimmer, basic rescue & other specialized programs. Minimum height requirement at most pools is   42", except * Pope Park ( indoor pool ) which is 48" and **Goodwin Pool which is 50". Lessons are offered during three sessions. Classes are between 9am-12noon. There will be three sessions; Session I June 26-July 14; Session II July 17-Aug. 4; Session III Aug.7 – Aug. 25. In the afternoon and evenings, there are adult swims, family swims, water walking/aerobics and open swim. Schedules & programs vary depending on participant’s interest and attendance. Saturdays are recreational swim and Sundays Family Day!.

MONDAY - FRIDAY 8:30-3:30 7 weeks Children’s Day Program. Youngsters are bussed to Batterson Park in Farmington for a day of games, arts & crafts, swimming and other fun activities. Saturday, Sunday and holidays the park is open to the general public beginning Memorial Weekend and ending Labor Day Weekend from 10am - dusk. Fees for Hartford Residents are: ages 14 & under $.50; 60 & older & .75; 15-59 $1.25; Fees for non-residents: Ages 14 & under $.75, All others $3.00. Proof of residency is required for Hartford rates. If no proof is provided, the non-residents rates will be charged. There are grills, picnic tables, a playground, restrooms and lakefront with lifeguards on duty. Non-gas powered boating is allowed on Batterson. All boats must be launched from the State boat launch.

Monday’s & Tuesday’s, July 10th – August15th at Hartford Public High School from 6:00-8:00pm. Camp is open to all city residents entering grades 9-12. Applications are available through any of the four high school coaches and by calling

543-8876. Campers nee to bring their helmet, T-0shirt, shorts & cleats. On rainy days call 543-8876 for cancellation information.
