CRIME TIP HOTLINE: 860-527-TIPS NEWS RELEASE Hartford Police Arrest Burglary Suspect.
The identification and arrest of Alessa as a suspect in a spate of recent burglaries of Southend Hartford restaurants and businesses in the upper Franklin Avenue area was the culmination of an investigation led by Captain Buyak, Major Crimes Detective Frank Bruskey, and Southend Community Service Officer (CSO) Carlos Faienza, with the assistance of the State Office of Adult Probation. During the investigation Alessa was identified as a suspect based on information obtained by CSO Faienza from area business owners and residents. Hartford Police spread flyers with Alessa's photo throughout the neighborhood over the weekend, resulting in what police believe was Alessa's attempt to deceive police by shaving off all his facial hair and his head bald. Hartford Police are continuing their investigation and anticipate additional warrants for Alessa, and possibly an accomplice. Anyone with information about Alessa is asked by Hartford Police to contact Major Crimes Detective Frank Bruskey at (860) 527-7300, extension 5218, or to call the HPD's Crime Tip Hotline, (860) 527-TIPS (8477). In commenting on Alessa's arrest Hartford Police Chief Daryl K. Roberts said, "I have no doubt that with the identification and arrest of Alessa that residents, businesses and visitors to the Southend will see a reduction in crime. This is a significant arrest, and I commend Captain Buyak, Detective Bruskey, and Community Service Officer Faienza for their diligence in removing this predator from our streets."
