Hartford Police Make Substantial
 Narcotics and Firearms Arrest.

(Hartford) - On Tuesday, November 21, at approximately 7:45 p.m., officers of the Hartford Police Department's Patrol Division and Southwest Conditions Team seized 2,000 bags of Heroin, a Colts Firearms Grenade Launcher, and approximately $2,000 in U.S. Currency. 

Prompted by information regarding a large scale drop of Heroin on York Street that was obtained by two Hartford Police Patrol Division officers, HPD officers and members of the Southwest Conditions Team established a surveillance operation that resulted in the location and stopping of a black Cadillac Deville at 31 York Street.  As a result of the investigation, 2,000 bags of Heroin, a Colts Firearms Grenade Launcher, and approximately $2,000 in U.S. currency were found in the vehicle.  The operator of the vehicle, identified as Luis Rodriguez, DOB 1/24/1984, of 25 Enfield Street, was taken into custody.  Rodriguez was charged with criminal use of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm, possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics by a non-dependent person.
