HARTFORD POLICE OBTAIN ARREST WARRANT FOR MOISES COUTINHO; ASSAULT AND ROBBERY SUSPECT


(Hartford) - Detectives of the Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes Division have obtained a felony arrest warrant for Moises Coutinho, DOB 02/28/1984, of 12 Merrill Street, Hartford, identified by police as a suspect in an October 2nd serious assault that occurred at 5 South Whitney Street in Hartford.  Coutinho is wanted by police on charges of criminal attempt to commit murder, assault in the first degree, robbery in the first degree, larceny in the second degree, criminal use of a firearm, and carrying a pistol without a permit and has a judge set bond at $750,000.

At approximately 5:00 p.m. on October 2nd, Hartford police responded to a report of a shooting in the parking lot of 5 South Whitney Street.  On arrival police located a victim suffering from a single non-life threatening gunshot wound to the neck area.  The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. 

Coutinho, described as an Hispanic male, 5'2", 130 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes, may be operating a green 1995 2 door-hatchback Acura Integra with a vehicle registration of 893WJA.  The firearm used in the shooting has not been recovered.
