CRIME SOLVERS TIPLINE: 860-527-TIPS NEWS RELEASE ANGEL CARRION SURRENDERS TO HARTFORD POLICE
On May 9th, 2008, detectives of the HPD's Major Crimes Division secured an arrest warrant for Carrion, described as an Hispanic male, 5'8", 207 lbs, medium build with black hair and brown eyes, charging him with two counts of criminal attempt to commit murder, two counts of assault in the first degree, reckless endangerment in the first degree, criminal use of a firearm, unlawful discharge of a firearm and carrying weapons in a motor vehicle. A bond of one million dollars has been set by a Hartford Superior Court presiding judge pending arraignment. On April 23rd, 2008, at approximately 7:20 p.m., Hartford Police officers responded to a report of shots fired in the vicinity of Franklin Avenue and Bond Street. On arrival the first victim was located in a park on Bond Street suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot. A second victim, suffering from a gunshot would to the abdomen, arrived by private vehicle at Hartford Hospital, and a third victim was later treated at St. Francis Hospital for a superficial wound to his left leg. The third victim reported to police he was at the corner of Franklin Avenue and Bond Street at the time of the shooting. In commenting on the investigation, Hartford Police Chief Daryl K. Roberts commended HPD MCD Detective Seth Condon and Fugitive Task Force Detective Jeff Antuna for their diligence in the case, "These two detectives never gave up on this investigation. As a result of their perseverance a violent individual is in custody and our streets are safer."
