HARTFORD POLICE SEARCHING FOR MISSING ENFIELD WOMAN

(Hartford) -  Detectives of the Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes and Juvenile Investigative Divisions are searching for an Enfield woman reported missing by her family.  Ashley G. Peoples, 22, of 5 Bailey Road, Enfield, Connecticut, was last seen on Thursday, August 7, 2008, at 1888 Main Street, Hartford.  Peoples is described as a Black female, 5'6", 110 lbs, with light highlighted short curly black hair and brown eyes.  She was wearing a white polo shirt with the CarMax emblem on the left breast, navy blue Capris and black and white sneakers.  Peoples has a tribal tattoo on her lower back.

Peoples was last seen at approximately 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, in the vicinity of 1888 Main Street with Darryl Crenshaw, 25, of 777 Maple Avenue, Hartford, 14 Brentwood Drive, Bloomfield, or possibly Enfield, Connecticut.  Family and witnesses believe Peoples was taken against her will by Crenshaw, an ex-boyfriend, following an argument.  Crenshaw, who has a history of assault, kidnapping and threatening, was last seen driving away with Peoples in his car, a 2000 blue Chevy Monte Carlo, Connecticut Registration 652WXO.  He is described as a Black male, 6', 158 lbs, bald, and although his mugshot shows him with a beard, he was last seen clean shaven.
