Violation 1 -
Trash Outside of Container
Rule
- All trash should be inside of trash container
with the lid closed.
Problem
- Unsightly and is food for animals and rodents

Violation 2 -
Early Presentation
Rule
- Trash, Recyclables and Bulk Waste should not
be at the curb for pickup until after 4:00 p.m.
on the day before or by 7 a.m. on your assigned
collection day.
Problems
- Unsightly. Draws more trash. Animals, birds,
people, etc., can rummage through trash.
Violation 3 -
Trash Containers not brought in within 24 hours
Rule
- Trash Containers should be removed from the
curb within 24 hours after your trash has been
collected.
Problems
- Unsightly. Draws more trash.
Violation 4 -
Bulky Waste not separated from metal
Bulky Waste must be separated
from metal and trash. The Bulky Waste and Scrap
Metal Pickup service is made on the same day as
your regular trash pickup. However, the service
is separate. This is a one person operation and
it is very time consuming for the operator to
separate the items at the time of collection.
If your Bulky Waste and Scrap Metal is not
separated, they will not be picked up.
Violation 5 - Bulk
Waste over weight limit
Bulky Waste means
items normally measuring not more than 7 feet in
any direction and/or weighing more than 50
pounds but not more than 500 pounds and which
cannot be easily broken down to a smaller size
or weight.
Please do not
place bulky items exceeding the above
specifications.
Violation 6 - Not
Recycling
Recycling is the law. Everyone
must recycle. Each owner and occupant of a
single or multi-unit residence, business,
non-profit organization, municipal office
building and school shall be responsible for
separating recyclables from the solid waste
generated on the premises. Please feel free to

Note: Proper recycling
reduces the City’s trash disposal cost.
Violation 7 - Late
Put Out
Rule
- If your trash has not been placed at curbside
by 7:00 a.m. on your assigned collection day,
please hold for next collection.
Problem
- Delays the regular pickup schedule
Violation 8 -
Construction Debris
Rule
- We do not service construction debris at
curbside (Contact commercial hauler)
Problems
- City trucks are not equipped to dispose of
construction materials. Construction material
usually exceeds the weight limit.
Consequences
The Public
Works Inspector issues warning notices to
property occupants and warning letters to
property owners. Repeat trash violations can
result in a Public Works Citation which assesses
a fine of $99.00 against the property owner.
