Hartford Fire Department to Receive International Award

Mayor Eddie A. Perez is pleased to announce that the Hartford Fire Department has been selected to receive a “Special Achievement in GIS” (geographical information system) award at the Environmental System Research Institute’s 26th Annual User Conference.  The GIS provides vital information on the computer, including but not limited to:  fire hydrant location, house number, number of stories of a building, access points, and building photos.  This award is being given to user sites around the world in recognition of their outstanding work in the GIS field.  The Hartford Fire Department was selected to receive this prize from over 100,000-user sites worldwide.
