CIVIC AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
DEPARTMENT BUDGET:
The 2000-2001 Adopted Budget is $1,819,070. This reflects a increase of $232,000 or 14.6%, from the 1999-2000 Adopted Budget.
OLD STATE HOUSE: $115,000
The annual contribution for the preservation and continued maintenance of the Old State House is $115,000.
AMISTAD PROJECT: $50,000
This contribution is for the promotion of the Amistad Project.
MARK TWAIN DAYS: $50,000
The City has set aside funds in support of Mark Twain Days.
HARTFORD DOWNTOWN COUNCIL: $100,000
These funds are for signage in the downtown district.
HARTFORD ARTS COUNCIL: $200,000
The City has set aside funds for a contribution to the Hartford Arts Council for the purchase and restoration of outdoor artwork.
ART FOR PUBLIC PLACES: $10,000
The amount of funding recommended for Art for Public Places remains level with the Adopted 1999-2000 budget.
CITIZEN’S COMMITTEE FOR EFFECTIVE GOVERNMENT: $45,000
In support of effective government within the City of Hartford, $45,000 have been set aside funds for the Citizen’s Committee for Effective Government.
CAROUSEL OPERATIONS: $158,150
The City has set aside funds for the Bushnell Park Carousel to offset the cost of continued operation of the carousel.
ARTIST COLLECTIVE: $25,000
The City has set aside funds for a contribution to the Artist Collective.
ORGANIZED PARENTS MAKING A DIFFERENCE: $125,000
The City has set aside funds for a contribution to the Organized Parents Making A Difference (OPMAD) program.
FIDDLE CONTEST: $4,000
The City has set aside funds for a contribution to offset expenses for the Fiddle Contest.
ONE CHANE: $30,000
The City has set aside funds for a contribution to ONE CHANE for outreach worker services.
BLUE HILLS CIVIC ASSOCIATION: $25,000
The City has set aside funds for a contribution to the Blue Hills Civic Association.
FARMINGTON AVENUE BUSINESS DISTRICT: $25,000
The City has set aside funds for a contribution to the Farmington Avenue Business District.
NEW BRITAIN AVENUE MERCHANT ASSOCIATION: $15,000
The City has set aside funds for a contribution to the New Britain Avenue Merchant Association for non-administrative items.
SOUTHEND COMMUNITY SERVICES: $25,000
The City has set aside funds for a contribution to Southend Community Services for senior citizen outreach services.
NEW ENGLAND FARM WORKERS: $40,000
The City has set aside funds for a contribution to the New England Farm Workers Council for employment programs.
CONNECTICUT PUERTO RICAN FORUM: $25,000
The City has set aside funds for a contribution to the Connecticut Puerto Rican Forum for employment and training programs.
CO-OPPORTUNITY INCORPORATED: $50,000
The City has set aside funds for a contribution to Co-Opportunity Incorporated to purchase equipment to be used in the Precision Wood Products program.
SPECIAL EVENTS: $701,920
The City has set aside funds to be used for Special Events such as First Night, Fourth of July, etc.
