To provide efficient professional service to the general public and uphold the integrity of the electoral process.

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS/PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Federal/State Election Laws and Municipal Ordinances mandate the duties and responsibilities of the office. These mandates govern the conduct of elections, primaries and referendums, registration and enrollment of voters and maintenance of voter registration records, which includes conducting the Annual Canvass of Voters, providing registration information to the general public and promoting voter participation. Registrars are elected every four years.

DEPARTMENT BUDGET:

The 2000-2001 Adopted Budget is $594,680. This reflects an increase of $8,990 or 1.5% over the 1999-2000 Adopted Budget.

BUDGET HIGHLIGHTS:

This increase is a result of payroll adjustments. The adopted budget also contains funds for the general election in November of this year.
