Parks and other Public Open Spaces

The three biggest waste challenges to our parks and open spaces are

  • Litter from the street and athletic teams
  • Dog waste
  • Graffiti

WHAT WE ARE DOING AND HOW YOU CAN HELP!

Athletic Teams - all teams through the permitting process agree to the following:

  • Keep the facility clean
  • Return all equipment to its designated area, and at no time will equipment be left on the playing areas
  • All areas left free of litter after completion of games/practice and before leaving the facility

Friends of the Parks Cleanup Events

  • The Friends of the Parks groups organize frequent cleanup events to tackle litter in City own parks.  Please consider signing up or organizing your own cleanup event.  Follow link for details and additional information.

Dog Owners – here are some simple do’s and don’ts for dog owners

  • Keep dogs on a leash. It’s required by law
  • Pick up your dog’s feces every time!
  • Don’t let your dog defecate or urinate on other people’s property
  • Don’t allow your dog to jump on other dogs.

Did you know that not picking up after your dog can result in a $50 fine?
