 The Department of Public Works is responsible for and is committed to maintaining the city's physical infrastructure and providing quality services to the citizens of Hartford.


City of Hartford Stormwater Management Plan

The Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP) for the City of Hartford was developed to meet the requirements of the Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) General Permit for the Discharge of Stormwater from Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4s), issued January 20, 2016 and effective July 1, 2017.

An Annual Report summarizing the progress made implementing the SWMP during 2017 will be available for the 30‐day public review period beginning February 15, 2018. At that time, we will be soliciting questions and comments from the public. The public review and comment period will end March 16, 2018.

You will be able to view a copy of the Annual Report and the SWMP at the Public Works Office at 50 Jennings Road in Hartford, during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
