The goal of the Traffic Division is insure proper design, maintenance, repair, construction of roadways to facilitate transport of people and goods on city streets and sidewalks.

1. How do I obtain turning movement counts (TMC) at specific intersections?

DPW has a historic database of locations where turning movement counts have been conducted in the past. Please call 311 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. 2. How do I obtain traffic volumes on a City street?

3. How do I request a speed hump on my street?

Please call 311 to place the request. DPW conducts traffic speed studies to determine the level of speeding on the street. Based on analysis results, DPW determines weather speed humps are warranted on the street. Please note, if DPW has conducted a speed study on the street within the past 3 years and determined speed humps are not warranted, your request will not be processed.

Traffic Signal

1. How do I request a traffic signal plan at a signalized intersection?

Please make sure to include the signalized intersection name in the request. If electronic copies of the plan are available, DPW will e-mail the plan back to the respondent. 24”x36” printouts of traffic signal plans can also be requested for a $10.00 fee.

2. How do I request traffic camera video footage for a particular incident?

DPW does not record any traffic monitoring video footage.

3. How do I report traffic signal timing problems or issues?

Please call 311 to report the issue. Make sure to include the signal location and a detailed description of the problem or issue.

4. How do I report a traffic signal is flashing?

5. How do I report burned out traffic signal bulbs and pedestrian signal bulbs at signalized intersections?

Please call 311 to report the issue. Any bulbs that are burned out at signalized intersections are replaced with LED’s as soon as possible. To report traffic signal bulb burnouts, please provide signal location, which direction the bulb is located at signal (east, west, north, south), bulb color (red, yellow, green), and bulb size (12 inch or 8 inch bulb). To report pedestrian signal bulb burnouts, please provide the signal location and intersection corner where bulb is located (or a landmark).

6. How do I report pedestrian crossing time at a traffic signal to cross the street is insufficient?

Please call 311 to report the issue. DPW reevaluates and adjust timings as needed. Constituents are advised to cross the street at the beginning of the pedestrian phase, not when the signal is blinking don’t walk.

7. How do I request a traffic signal installation at an unsignalized intersection?

Please call 311 to place the request. DPW performs a traffic signal warrant analysis, based on Federal standards, to determine if a signal is warranted at the intersection.

1. How do I request a handicap parking sign in front of my property?

Please call 311 to place the request. Each case is evaluated on an individual basis. Determinant factors include constituents issue or problem, type of property constituent resides at, and existing street conditions/regulations.

2. How do I request a No Parking signs in front of my property?

Please call 311 to place the request. Each case is evaluated on an individual basis. Determinant factors include constituents issue or problem, parking availability and demand, off street parking availability, type of property, and existing street conditions/regulations.

3. How do I report broken or damaged signs?

Please call 311 to report the issue. Based on the sign type, critical versus non-critical, signs are scheduled to be replaced.

4. How do I request a street name sign to be replaced?

Please call 311 to place the request. Signs are scheduled to be replaced as they are reported.

5. How do I request for an all way stop sign at an intersection?

Please call 311 to place the request. DPW performs an all way stop warrant analysis, based on Federal standards, to determine if it’s warranted.

6. How do I request an in-crosswalk "pedestrian crossing" sign?

Please call 311 to place the request. DPW assesses location and determines if it’s warranted. If warranted, DPW provides conditional approval for sign installation.
