(January 16, 2013) – Mayor Segarra released the following statement today regarding President Obama’s announcement of 23 executive actions on gun violence.

“I applaud President Obama and Vice President Biden for their commitment to the issue of gun control and for responding quickly with common-sense solutions. The bottom line is there are practical, reasonable gun restrictions that would create an environment where incidents like Newtown are less likely to occur.

Mayor Segarra Hosts Ceremony to Unveil Hartford’s New Public Safety Complex on High Street

(January 3, 2013) – On Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at 11:00 AM, Mayor Pedro E. Segarra along with the Hartford Police Department (HPD) the Hartford Fire Department (HFD) and the Emergency Services and Telecommunications Department will host a ceremony to unveil the new Public Safety Complex (PSC) located at 253 High Street.

Mayor Segarra’s Livable and Sustainable Neighborhoods Initiative Continues to Revitalize Hartford Neighborhoods

(December 20, 2012) The Livable and Sustainable Neighborhoods Initiative (LSNI) launched by Mayor Pedro E. Segarra in 2011, announced today that continued efforts to revitalize Hartford neighborhoods, including a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and pilot -program to capture illegal trash dumping in major commercial areas, is having significant success in all areas of the city.
