"To encourage the expansion of existing industry and commerce within the City of Hartford and to attract additional Industrial, Commercial, and Residential development."
The Hartford Area Development Corporation (HADC), a nonprofit 501© (4) organization, has a long-standing commitment to economic development. The organization was formed in 1977 through the initiative of the Hartford Area Chamber of Commerce and with the cooperation of City Government.

Hartford Options for Tomorrow:

James B. Farnam of Holt, Wexlert Farnam, LLP is working with HOT on the Hartford Revenue Enhancement Project.  Hartford’s Options for Tomorrow (HOT) is a group of human service agencies who have come together to identify ways to increase support for non-profit and community based human services in Hartford.  Many of the agencies are experiencing increased demand for their services at the same time that funding for their services from sources such as Community Development Blocks Grants (CDBG) are decreasing.  In response to this trend, the members of HOT have launched a planning process to identify innovative ways to generate additional revenue to support vital human services in the City of Hartford.
