CITY OF HARTFORD
BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS
The City of Hartford enjoys a wide variety of
Boards and Commissions.
Thank you for your interest in joining a City of
Hartford Board or Commission. Hartford’s system of Boards and Commissions
provides a way for the public to participate in the City's decision making
process by advising the Mayor and City Council on numerous issues. The City
believes it is not only the right, but also the responsibility, of citizens
to participate in planning for their future. Democracy can only be
realized when individuals come together across neighborhood and economic
lines to assist in making the community decisions that will shape all of
their lives.
Serving on a Board or Commission can be a rewarding
experience for community service-minded residents. It is an excellent
way to participate in the functioning of local government and to make a
personal contribution to the improvement of the Hartford community.
Making local government effective and responsible is everybody’s
responsibility.
Send questions or comments to Glendowlyn Hall, Director of Constituent Services to Mayor Pedro E. Segarra, (860) 757-9500.
