MATTHEW J. HENNESSY- CHIEF OF STAFF.

 

Matthew J. Hennessy has served as Chief of Staff for Mayor Perez since 2001. Matt’s responsibilities include public policy development, intergovernmental relations, special economic development project coordination, and strategic communications development. Matt’s extensive public sector experience includes service as an aide to U.S. Senator Joseph I. Lieberman, as a clerk for U.S. District Court Judge Alfred V. Covello, as a Deputy National Finance Director for the Democratic National Committee, as assistant to the President of SINA responsible for the $250 million Learning Corridor community revitalization effort and as a Lieutenant responsible for community policing initiatives with the Hartford County Sheriff’s Office. Matt, who lives in Hartford’s West End with his wife and daughter holds a B.A. in political science from the Catholic University of America, a M.A. in public policy from Trinity College, and a certificate from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government senior executive program where he was the recipient of the Wassermann fellowship.
