SARAH BARR- DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS

Sarah Barr has been the Director of Communications since January 2005. Sarah is responsible for the internal and external coordination of the Mayor's message.  She is also the point person for the media.  The government cable access producer and special projects coordinator are both under her guidance. 

Prior to joining Mayor Perez’s staff Sarah worked as a television journalist both on camera and behind the scenes in Hartford, Philadelphia, Detroit, and Pittsburgh covering a wide range of topics including politics, transportation, and family issues. Sarah is a graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia, but she started her news career at CRIS Radio, a closed-circuit station for the blind and physically handicapped in Wethersfield, her hometown.  She lives in Hartford with her husband and their young daughter.
