Star Community

Word is spreading quickly about the Holiday Decoration Contest that will take place in the "Sunset Behind the Rocks" Rising Star Community this month. Winners will be announced on December 16, 2003 during the group's Holiday Party that will begin at 6:30 PM at the Boy's & Girl's Club on Chandler Street. The first prize winner will take home $250.00; second place - $150.00; and third place -  $100.00 in cash. All decorations were ready for judging by December 13, 2003.

The "Sunset Behind The Rocks" Rising Star Community is sponsoring the contest as residents continue to work on other projects. After initially establishing their organizing committee, they selected their name "Sunset Behind the Rocks" to celebrate the dramatic sunset that can be viewed in many parts of their community. And they have researched the feasibility of a number of beautification projects. At this point the leading possibilities are ornamental lawn lamp fixtures or porch lights. The final decision, which will be based on group consensus, will be made after additional research. Subsequently, they will move on to other projects which may include boundary signage, among other ideas.

The Sunset Behind The Rocks Rising Star Community wishes everyone a "happy holiday" and invites the public to visit their community during the holiday season to enjoy the festive decorations.
