Environmental Health Division
Hours: 8:30-4:30, Monday through Friday, 860-543-8815
Inspection and licensure of restaurants, food handlers, institutions, schools, shelters, and swimming pools are ways that the Health Department ensures a safe environment within the City of Hartford. The Environmental Health Program also ensures the assessment and correction of environmental threats such as: lead contamination, vermin, insects, and asbestos exposure. In addition, the Program addresses nuisances such as odors, abandoned vehicles, noise, and trash accumulation problems.
Periodic seminars are held with instruction in the safe handling and management of potentially threatening products.
