MAYOR SEGARRA APPOINTS DIRECTOR OF OPPORTUNITIES HARTFORD INITIATIVE

(December 13, 2012)  Mayor Pedro E. Segarra announced the appointment of Tiana V. Hercules, Esq. as the Special Assistant to the Mayor for coordinating and managing his Opportunities Hartford initiative. Opportunities Hartford is Mayor Segarra’s signature initiative designed to enhance and expand existing educational, employment and income opportunities in Connecticut’s Capital City.

HARTFORD POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT BEGIN TRANSITION TO NEW PUBLIC SAFETY COMPLEX ON HIGH STREET

(November 21, 2012) –Mayor Pedro E. Segarra along with the Hartford Police Department (HPD) and Hartford Fire Department (HFD) announced today that several services have relocated to the new Public Safety Complex on 253 High Street.

CITY OF HARTFORD ENFORCES STRICT PENALTIES ON LANDLORDS WHO DO NOT PROVIDE ESSENTIAL SERVICES TO TENANTS

 

(December 5, 2012) Today, The Department of Development Services- Division of Licenses and Inspections, the Hartford Police Department and Health and Human Services announced plans to enforce strict penalties on landlords who fail to provide essential services; heat, hot water, cooking gas and electricity. This is the first time in City history the Departments are teaming up to address a systemic issue by enforcing strict penalties that include arrest.
