Statement From Mayor Segarra and Fire Chief Casares on Passing of Firefighter William Hunt

City Flags to Fly at Half-Staff Until Conclusion of Funeral Services

(July 13, 2012) --- Mayor Pedro E. Segarra and Hartford Fire Chief Edward Casares, Jr. today announced that Firefighter William A. Hunt, 50, died this morning at home in Glastonbury, Connecticut.  Firefighter Hunt was an 18-year veteran of the Hartford Fire Department, who also served in the US Navy, was presently assigned to Engine 2/Tour A.  He was a proud father of two daughters and was engaged to be married.

Firearm Discharge by Hartford Police Department Personnel Early This Morning

(July 11, 2012) --- City of Hartford and Hartford Police Department officials have confirmed that early this morning four uniformed Hartford Police Department officers stopped a vehicle at or around 60 Wadsworth Street and, following an altercation, one of the officers discharged his firearm into the vehicle.

Public Presentations Scheduled For Monday, July 9 at 5:30PM at the Hartford Public Library

(July 5, 2012) --- Mayor Pedro E. Segarra today announced that 3 Police Chief search finalists will be making a public presentation and answering written questions from members of the public on Monday, July 9 from 5:30-7:00PM at the Hartford Public Library, Main Branch, in the new Center for Contemporary Culture Room.
