$21,730 in Grant Funds Promotes Entrepreneurs in the Fields of Technology, Science & Innovation
(July 17, 2012) – The City of Hartford and the Connecticut Science Center are proud to announce that Aztech Engineers has been selected to receive $15,000 in grant funding and Open Wire Lab has been selected to receive $6,730 in grant funding through the Hartford Business Development Grant for Innovative Entrepreneurs. This fund is designed to help entrepreneurs move forward with projects in the areas of applied science, technology, and innovation.
(July 17, 2012) --- Due to project delays, Summit Street will be closed between Zion Street and Allen Place from Wednesday, July 18th through Monday, July 23rd while contractors for Northeast Utilities perform street excavation work. No through traffic will be permitted during construction periods. Work will begin at 7AM and is expected to be completed by 5PM daily. Hartford Police Officers will be on site to ensure vehicular and pedestrian safety.

(July 13, 2012) --- Mayor Pedro E. Segarra and Hartford Fire Chief Edward Casares, Jr. today announced that Firefighter William A. Hunt, 50, died this morning at home in Glastonbury, Connecticut. Firefighter Hunt was an 18-year veteran of the Hartford Fire Department, who also served in the US Navy, was presently assigned to Engine 2/Tour A. He was a proud father of two daughters and was engaged to be married.
