FrogHollow

FrogHollow is among Hartford's most dynamic neighborhoods. It was originally developed as housing for employees of the factories which lined Capitol Avenue. The neighborhood produced Columbia bicycles, Underwood and Olivetti typewriters and a variety of other goods at the turn of the century. The residential section of the neighborhood was filled at that time with three and six family buildings to accommodate the immigrant population who lived there. The neighborhood is home to Pope Park, designed by the renowned Olmstead Brothers landscape architects.
