MAYOR PEREZ THANKS JOE DELORENZO

FOR HIS YEARS OF SERVICE TO HARTFORD

---NEWS RELEASE---

(January 4, 2008)--- Hartford Mayor Eddie A. Perez has proclaimed today “Joe DeLorenzo Day in the City of Hartford” in honor of Joe’s 26 years of service, most recently as the Republican Registrar of Voters.

Mayor Perez says, “No matter what your party affiliation is, everybody loves and respects Joe.  He’s a life-long resident of the city who has always made time for the people of Hartford.  He exemplifies excellent customer service but more importantly, he embodies true professionalism and quite simply is a class act.”

Mr. DeLorenzo has served the city as the Republican Registrar of Voters for 14 years and as Deputy Republican Registrar of Voters for 12 years.  He has also served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Mayor Perez says, “Joe’s a walking encyclopedia with his knowledge of Hartford.  He has provided all of us with much insight and with many precious memories.  I can’t imagine City Hall without him.”
