(January 22, 2008)--- Hartford Mayor Eddie A. Perez leaves today for Washington D.C.  He’ll take part in the United States Conference of Mayors Winter Meeting as well as meet with U.S. Senators Christopher Dodd and Joseph Lieberman and U.S. Congressman John Larson to help leverage federal funds for transportation, flood control, and economic development.  The Capital City is taking the lead in the regional approach to these major issues.  The Mayor will also listen to best practices from around the country in regards to housing, tourism, and urban community issues.

 

On Thursday, The Latino Leaders Network will honor Mayor Perez for his national leadership.  He will receive the “Nambe Eagle Leadership Award”--- a symbol of vision, achievement and commitment to the Latino community.
