MAYOR PEREZ CELEBRATES BLACK HISTORY MONTH

AT ANNUAL URBAN LEAGUE DINNER

6:00 p.m.--- Mayor Perez will give greetings at this year’s Urban League of Greater Hartford Annual Black History Month Dinner.   The following people will be honored at this special event:

1.      Walter Benjamin, President  & CEO of W.L.B. Group of Business

2.      Suzette Benn, Special Appreciation Award

3.      George A. Coleman, Connecticut State Department of Education

4.      St. Rep. Kenneth Green, (D)- Hartford

5.      Hattie Harris, Community Activist

6.      Spencer Shaw, D.Lit., Librarian and Educator

7.      Tara Spain, Manger of Community Affairs, St. Paul Travelers

8.      Eric Turner, Esp., Connecticut Freedom of Information Commission

9.      rJo Winch, Majority Leader Hartford Court of Common Council

Mayor Perez will congratulate the awardees and talk about the importance of celebrating history and heritage.

The event will take place at La Renaissance in East Windsor starting at 6:00 p.m.
