MAYOR PEREZ CONGRATULATES HHS DIRECTOR ON NEW JOB
---NEWS RELEASE---
(February 5, 2007)--- Hartford Mayor Eddie A. Perez congratulates Ramon Rojano, Harford Health & Human Services Director on his new position. He has been appointed Human Services Director of Wake County, in Raleigh, North Carolina. A large agency of 1,700 workers, Wake County Human Services encompasses public health, mental health, social services, child protection and employment services. Mr. Rojano’s family is moving south so he took the opportunity to be part of a national search and was chosen because of his extensive experience and leadership.
Mr. Rojano is scheduled to start his new position on April 9, 2007. He will continue in his current capacity in Hartford until the end of March to help ensure a smooth and effective transition.
Ramon Rojano has worked for the city for more than 11 years, starting as Social Services Director. In 1996, he provided leadership for the merger of social services and recreation into the new Human Services Department. In 2003, he was selected to lead the newly created Department of Health and Human Services.
Working closely with Mayor Eddie A. Perez, he contributed to the development and implementation of multiple projects, including:
“I want to thank Mayor Perez, City Council, my peers and staff, and the community for their continued support. This is bittersweet. On one hand, it is a great opportunity but it will be sad to leave Hartford. I will miss the HHS workers but I leave them in good hands. The department is strong, well trained and prepared to carry on to best serve the residents of Hartford,” Rojano says.
Mayor Eddie Perez says, “Hartford’s loss is North Carolina’s gain. Ramon will help guide the department through the transition and within a month, we plan to make an announcement regarding future plans. We wish Ramon and his family the very best and I’m sure Ramon will be successful in his new position.”
