MAYOR PEREZ TO ADDRESS FANNIE MAE
NATIONAL HOUSING ADVISORY COUNCIL
---NEWS ADVISORY FOR MARCH 6 and 7---
Tuesday, March 6th
4:00 p.m.--- Mayor Perez will answer questions about crucial housing issues facing Hartford and how the city is successfully addressing the matter. One of the topics to be discussed will be supportive housing. The Mayor will attend a series of seminars with the National Housing Advisory Council (NHAC). This is a group of influential leaders that includes real estate professionals, homebuilders, housing and finance CEOs, and representatives of affordable housing and consumer groups. The NHAC is a forum that meets three times a year in Washington D.C. This event takes place in the Great Hall, Fannie Mae at 3900 Wisconsin Avenue, NW, Washington D.C.
Wednesday, March 7th
8:30 a.m.--- Sessions continue with the National Housing Advisory Council. One of the panel discussion focuses on tackling the challenge of homelessness in America. In 2005, Mayor Perez established a Commission to End Chronic Homelessness in Hartford by 2015. Location for the forum is the same.
7:00 p.m.--- Mayor Perez will be back in Hartford to attend the Liberty Christian Concert and present a proclamation to the Spellman College Choir. This performance takes place at Liberty Christian Center, 23 Vine Street in the City’s Upper Albany neighborhood. This was one of the churches Mayor Perez visited last summer during his Volunteers of Faith tour to get more adults engaged in the lives of Hartford youth.
