MAYOR PEREZ’S PUBLIC SCHEDULE 

 

---NEWS ADVISORY FOR MARCH 17, 18, AND 19---

 

Saturday, March 17th

 

10:00 a.m.--- Mayor Perez welcomes the students of today and the scientists of tomorrow to the First Robotics Team Competition.  This annual event takes place at the Connecticut Convention Center on Columbus Boulevard in Downtown Hartford.  (Please note that this event is starting one hour later than originally scheduled due to Friday’s inclement weather).

 

Reminder:  St. Patrick’s Day Parade is postponed until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 24th.

 

Sunday, March 18th

 

8:00 a.m.--- Mayor Perez will present a proclamation to Archbishop LeRoy Bailey, Jr.  This is his 36th anniversary of his spiritual leadership.  From a small local church to the largest Protestant congregation in New England, Archbishop Bailey leads a membership of 8,000 Christians.  The event takes place at First Cathedral Church, 1151 Blue Hills Avenue, Bloomfield.

 

10:00 a.m.--- Mayor Perez will focus on youth and homeownership as he speaks to members of the Asylum Hill Congregational Church.  1,800 people are expected to attend this service.  The church is located at 814 Asylum Avenue and its parishioners have been active partners in the growth of the Asylum Hill community.

 

Monday, March 19th

 

5:30 p.m.--- Mayor Perez takes his State of the City Address on the Road!  The first stop will be Rawson School, 260 Holcomb Street, in the Blue Hills neighborhood.  Public safety, youth services, and school renovation will be just some of the highlighted topics.
