MAYOR PEREZ SAYS NAACP AWARDS THEME SETS TONE

Saturday, April 21

 

12:00 p.m. --- Mayor Eddie A. Perez will share greetings at the NAACP Annual Awards Luncheon.  This year’s theme is “Operation Excellence- Moving From Good To Great.”  Mayor Perez says that’s exactly what Hartford is doing and it’s being achieved because people in all of our communities are working together to make New England’s Rising Star shine brighter than ever.  This inspiring event that honors excellence takes place at the Hartford Hilton, 315 Trumbull Street, Downtown.

 

6:00 p.m.--- Mayor Perez will be recognized as the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford celebrates its first new building in 25 years.  The Renee Samuels Center features new multi media studios, seminar rooms, audio/visual components, computer labs and photography labs.  The black tie optional event takes place at the new center that is located right on the UHart campus. 

 

Sunday, April 22

 

11:30 a.m.--- Mayor Perez will give opening remarks at the Second Annual AIDS Walk, sponsored by the Latino Community Services.  The event is to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS is being held along Riverfront Plaza in Downtown Hartford and is being presented this year in partnership with MAC Cosmetics.
