---NEWS ADVISORY FOR MAYOR PEREZ’S PUBLIC EVENTS FOR MONDAY, MAY 7TH---
9:00 a.m.--- Mayor Eddie A. Perez and Chief Charles Teale, Sr., will welcome lawmakers, community organizations and members of the media to a demonstration that will give them a renewed appreciation of the physical and emotional demands that all Connecticut firefighters face. The Uniformed Professional Firefighters of Connecticut is the sponsor of this event that is being hosted at the Hartford Training Facility, 1 Fischer Road (off of Jennings Road) in the North Meadows neighborhood.
3:45 a.m.--- Mayor Perez will congratulate and take a picture with Patrece Richards, the Weaver High School student who won State Comptroller Nancy Wyman’s Black History Essay Contest. The photo opportunity will take place on the second floor of City Hall, located at 550 Main Street in Downtown Hartford.
4:00 p.m.--- Mayor Perez, Chief Daryl Roberts, and Councilman Calixto Torres will outline an ordinance regarding extended hour convenience stores. The importance of safe and vibrant neighborhoods will be discussed. The news conference will be held in City Council Chambers, on the second floor of City Hall and will be carried live on Government Cable Access Channel 21.
