Wednesday, June 20th

10:00 a.m.--- Mayor Eddie A. Perez tells graduates of Clark Elementary School to “Believe They Can Fly!”  That’s the theme of this special 6th grade ceremony in the school auditorium, 75 Clark Street in the City’s Northeast neighborhood.

 

Thursday, June 21h

10:00 p.m.--- Mayor Perez wants graduates of SAND Elementary School to Dream Big!  As the keynote speaker, he’ll also reiterate the importance of college to make those dreams come true.  The ceremony takes place at SAND, 1750 Main Street in the Clay Arsenal neighborhood.

 

11:00 a.m.--- Mayor Perez congratulates Riverfront Recapture on completing improvement projects to the boat launch and the Riverwalk.  The celebration of the environment takes places at the Boathouse in Riverside Park in the North Meadows neighborhood.

 

6:45 p.m.--- Chief Operating Officer Lee Erdmann will speak on behalf of Mayor Perez as the City of Hartford Celebrates Higher Education.  This ceremony is in recognition of Hartford residents who have received a Bachelor’s degree or higher.  This annual event takes place at the Vernon Social Center at Trinity College that connects the Frog Hollow, Barry Square and Behind the Rocks neighborhoods.

 

Friday, June 22nd

4:30 p.m.--- Mayor Perez welcomes more approximately 10,000 visitors to New England’s Rising Star as part of the 50th Anniversary Connecticut Conference United Church of Christ General Synod.  This is the kick off for a five-day event that will include visits from U.S. Senator Barack Obama and journalist Bill Moyers (They appear on Saturday:  tickets available at the Civic Center, Capital Community College and Center Church while supplies last; media must be credentialed).  The Friday event takes place at the Civic Center in Downtown Hartford.

 

6:00 p.m.--- Mayor Perez tells graduates of Hartford Public High School that the future is now!  As a graduate of HPHS, the Mayor will emphasize the importance of earning a four-year degree and his hopes that students will reinvest those skills into their home community.  The ceremony takes place at Welte Hall at Central Connecticut State University.
