NEWS ADVISORY: 

MAYOR PEREZ’S PUBLIC EVENTS FOR THURSDAY, JUNE 28TH

 

1:00 p.m.--- Hartford to Amsterdam, non-stop!  Mayor Perez will take part in a news conference that celebrates Northwest Airlines and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines flying direct from Bradley International Airport to Amsterdam.  The Mayor will talk about the economic opportunities, but will also reference Hartford’s history of how Dutch Traders founded Hartford, built a fort, and called it “the house of hope.”  The theme of opportunity takes on new meaning at the announcement, which will take place at The Hartford Club, 46 Prospect Street in Downtown Hartford.

 

2:30 p.m.--- Mayor Perez honors dedication to service at this year’s Employee Recognition Day.  The annual celebration honors city employees who have reached milestones in their careers.  This year 34 people will be applauded for 30 years of service or more to the Capital City.  Also saluted will be employees who have served between 5 and 30 years.  The event begins at 2:00 p.m. with the Mayor speaking at approximately 2:30 p.m. in the City Hall Atrium, 550 Main Street, in Downtown Hartford.

 

4:00 p.m.--- Mayor Perez and House Speaker James Amann will help cut the ribbon to celebrate the National MS Society, Greater Connecticut Chapter Open House.  The building is situated on the North Campus of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.  The new facility is located on the first floor of 659 Tower Avenue, in the City’s Blue Hills neighborhood.
