NEWS ADVISORY: MAYOR PEREZ’S PUBLIC EVENTS FOR JULY 5
11:30 a.m.--- Mayor Eddie A. Perez praises the entrepreneurship of RFL Urban Wear. The Mayor will present a citation and compliment the Reverence For Life Initiative for being a neighborhood based business that is giving back to the community. The owners of the shop provide residents with employment and skills like the arts of silk screening, air brushing and design techniques. They also provide mentorship and positive role models. The presentation takes place at 189b Westland Street in the City’s Northeast neighborhood.
12:30 p.m.--- Mayor Perez promotes agriculture, economics, and healthy eating habits at the opening of the Farmers’ Market on Billings Forge. Bringing locally grown fresh produce to the city is important to all urban areas. This is the market’s official opening. The Farmers’ Market on Billings Forge is located on Broad Street between Capitol and Russ Streets in Hartford’s Frog Hollow neighborhood.
