GROUNDBREAKING FOR NEW RESOURCE CENTER
---NEWS ADVISORY FOR THURSDAY, AUGUST 30TH---
3:00 p.m.--- Mayor Eddie Perez wants to strengthen neighborhoods through education, opportunity and economic development. That’s why he is proud to attend the groundbreaking of the Caribbean and American Resource Center, joined by Councilwoman Veronica Airey-Wilson. Located at 1443 Albany Avenue in the City’s Upper Albany community, this development project gives Hartford residents access to academic enrichment opportunities, educational forums on issues like immigration, insurance, and investments, as well as job search assistance and computer training.
The Center for Urban Research, Education, and Training, Inc. (CURET) is the owner of the facility that will be utilizing HUD and CDBG funds to rehab the existing building to accommodate this non-profit agency that provides services to low and moderate-income families.
