REVITALIZATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP

MAYOR PEREZ FOCUSES ON HARTFORD’S FUTURE

---NEWS ADVISORY FOR WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 19TH---

10:30 a.m.--- Mayor Perez wants to make Hartford’s neighborhoods more vibrant.  He’ll take part in the Inaugural Ride of the Park Street Trolley.  This event highlights revitalization and beautification efforts throughout the city.  The event takes place at 490 Park Street (at the corner of Park and Oak) in Frog Hollow.  The trolley (which seats about 25 people and is handicap accessible) will take the following route:  Westbound on Park; Right onto Babcock; Right onto Russ to Lafayette, and then back to Park and Oak.

5:30 p.m.--- Mayor Perez will talk about the importance of education and accomplishing goals as he praises the graduates of a new entrepreneurship program.    “Affecting New Thoughts” is a business concept that is committed to young people, their families, and to economic growth and opportunity.  It is a non-traditional community based curriculum designed to give young people hands-on experience and help them secure employment.  The event takes place at Keney Golf Course (Barbour Street entrance) in the City’s Northeast neighborhood.
