TWO MAJOR EVENTS
---NEWS ADVISORY---
11:00 a.m.--- Mayor Perez kicks-off the 5th Annual Hartford International Jazz Festival as it aims to “Bring the World” to Hartford. Jazz, Blues, and World Music artists will be featured on the main stages throughout the city and in your favorite Downtown restaurants. Mayor Perez will talk about the importance of music to the community and will ask local businesses to get “In The Mood” by using window displays to help showcase the event. City Council members, business leaders, and the founders of the festival will join the Mayor at this news conference in City Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, 550 Main Street in Downtown Hartford. Government Cable Access Channel 21 will carry the news conference live.
12:30 p.m.--- Mayor Perez will greet Cinderella and Hartford Public School students as Connecticut Ballet marks the resurgence of classical ballet in the Capital City. The pumpkin carriage will ride into Hartford at Kinsella Elementary School, 65 Van Block Avenue, in the City’s Sheldon-Charter Oak neighborhood. Performances of “Cinderella” will take place on November 3rd and 4th at the Bushnell’s Belding Theater. The first show is especially geared towards the 3rd and 4th graders at Hartford Public Schools.
