---MAYOR PEREZ’S EVENTS ON TUESDAY SEPT. 25TH---

 

11:00 a.m.--- Welcoming a Community and Opening the Door of Opportunity:  Mayor Eddie A. Perez will join community leaders for the official ribbon cutting of the new Metzner Center.  This community center is another shining example of investment in Hartford’s neighborhoods by providing people an inviting place to learn, create and to interact.  Tour the new game room, arts and crafts area, and classrooms.  A daycare facility, run by OPP (Our Piece of the Pie) is located on the lower level.  The Metzner Center is located at 680 Franklin Avenue in the City’s South End.

 

5:30 p.m.--- Celebrating Cultural Contributions and Marking it on a New Calendar!  Mayor Perez will congratulate Aetna for recognizing the perspectives and experiences of Hispanics and how these contributions have helped enrich the Insurance Industry giant.  Aetna Chairman and CEO Ron Williams will host the event that will include the introduction of a new “Hispanic Calendar.”  This unveiling of the calendar will help celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month.  The event takes place at 151 Farmington Avenue in the Asylum Hill neighborhood.
