HARTFORD’S YOUNGEST RESIDENTS ON THE ROAD TO SUCCESS
FIRST PROGRESS REPORT ON YOUNG CHILDREN IN HARTFORD ISSUED
---NEWS ADVISORY FOR MONDAY, OCT. 22ND---
2:00 p.m.--- First Progress Report on Young Children in Hartford! Mayor Perez and The Mayor’s Office for Young Children will unveil the first ever progress report on the status of young children in the Capital City. This report is the result of an Advisory Work Group to the Cabinet for Young Children and the Office for Young Children. The Progress Report involved the input of hundreds of parents, students, and early childhood experts who focused on the major issues facing the community.
Mayor Perez says, “Education starts at birth. We must prepare our children now for a better tomorrow. We need to give them the skills they need to succeed in life.”
A news conference will be held Monday, October 22nd at 2:00 p.m. at the Mount Olive Child Care Center, 30 Battles Street in Hartford’s Clay Arsenal neighborhood.
Joining Mayor Perez at this event will be: Chris Hall of Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, State Representative Kelvin Roldan, and Jose Colon-Rivas, the Executive Director of the Mayor’s Office for Young Children.
