SATURDAY, OCT. 21
6:00 p.m.--- Empowering Families! Mayor Perez will greet members of the organization Parents Opening Doors that advocates for Latino families of children with disabilities. The 15th Anniversary Gala Event takes place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 50 Morgan Street in Downtown Hartford.
SUNDAY, OCT. 22
10:30 a.m.--- Safety First! Mayor Perez will provide words of encouragement to law enforcement officers. The Phillips Metropolitan CME Church Law Enforcement Sunday takes place at Fox Middle School 305 Greenfield Street in Hartford’s Upper Albany neighborhood.
MONDAY, OCT. 23
12:00 p.m.--- Hartford Shines! Mayor Perez will talk about what the City of Hartford is doing to help conserve energy. The “Change a Light, Change the World Campaign” is part of Energy Awareness Month. This event takes place at the South Arsenal Neighborhood Apartments, 1630 Main Street in the Capital City’s Clay Arsenal community.
7:00 p.m.--- Courage and Conviction! Mayor Perez will use his Point of Personal Privilege to honor Hartford native John Lobon, one of the “Syracuse 8”, who boycotted being members of that university’s football team in 1970 after their calls for equal treatment were not honored. A proclamation will be presented during the City Council meeting in Council Chambers on the 2nd floor of City Hall.
