STATEMENT FROM MAYOR PEREZ

ON THE PASSING OF ACTIVIST WILLIE LONG

Mayor Eddie A. Perez says, “Today we pay our last respects to a true champion of Hartford.  Willie Long devoted her life to her community, especially to our seniors.  We are forever in her debt for her selflessness and sacrifice.  It is our duty now to carry on her legacy.” 

Willie C. Long died Sunday, November 10^th, at her Tower Avenue home.  She was 86-years-old.  Services are being held today, Thursday, November 15^th, at Fuqua Funeral Services, 94 Granby Street in Bloomfield.  Calling hours are at 1:00 p.m.  The funeral is at 2:00 p.m.
