Saturday, December 8, 2007
11:00 p.m. --- Mayor Perez will attend Faith Seventh Day Adventist Church’s Three Angels Community Service Day. The Mayor will speak about the importance of food pantries to the City of Hartford and the State of Connecticut. About 500 people are expected to attend. This event will take place on 500 Woodland Street in the Upper Albany neighborhood.
6:00 p.m. --- Mayor Perez will speak at the 16th Annual Maria Sanchez Banquet. This event honors the late Maria C. Sanchez, a powerful voice in the Puerto Rican community, who fought for better neighborhoods and education for all. This event promises to be an evening full of cultural excitement, and musical entertainment. A scholarship program in honor of Maria Sanchez’s will also be inaugurated. The banquet will take place at the Crown Plaza Hotel, located on 50 Morgan Street in Downtown Hartford.
Monday, December 10, 2007
5:30 p.m. --- Mayor Perez will take part in Hartford’s first ever Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) graduation. There are 12 graduates, who will be helping emergency response personnel during disasters. This event will take place at the City Hall Atrium, located on 550 Main Street, in Downtown Hartford.
