Mayor Eddie A. Perez will continue a more modern Hartford tradition
by requesting his point of privilege at Monday’s Council meeting to
present the “Farewell Chairs” to the three outgoing members:
Council President John V. Bazzano, Minority Leader Robert L.
Painter, and Councilperson Elizabeth Horton Sheff.
Mayor Perez says, “I thank and
praise them for their leadership and devotion to improving the
quality of life of the people of the City of Hartford. The
tradition of the farewell chairs was started in 1995, and is a
thoughtful gesture that I feel is important to continue.”
