MAYOR PEREZ APPLAUDS TWO INSURANCE COMPANIES
 FOR INVESTING IN HARTFORD’S FUTURE

 

---NEWS ADVISORY FOR DEC. 21ST---

 

9:30 a.m.--- Groundbreaking for new Aetna parking garage.  Mayor Perez will talk about the investment in Hartford that Aetna is making by bringing about 3500 jobs to the Capital City by 2010.  The parking facility will help accommodate more employees on the main campus.  The ceremony will take place on Flower Street (between Farmington and Capitol Avenues, across from the ING building) in the City’s Asylum Hill neighborhood.  In addition to the new garage, sidewalk improvements and ample new street lighting will be part of the development plan (a model will be on hand for a photo opportunity).

 

1:00 p.m.--- St. Paul Travelers presents a grant check in support of Hartford’s Truancy program.  Mayor Perez will speak about truancy being an educational, public safety, and economic issue.  He will thank St. Paul Travelers, Chief Roberts, and Superintendent Adamowski for all being on the same page when it comes to putting Hartford’s kids first.  The news conference will take place in the Media Room, 2nd floor, of Fox Middle School at 305 Greenfield Street in Hartford’s Upper Albany neighborhood.
