MAYOR PEREZ ENCOURAGES HARTFORD RESIDENTS

 TO “GET OUT THE VOTE” THIS ELECTION DAY

 

WHEN:         Tuesday, November 8, 2005

 Polls open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

 

Mayor Eddie Perez wants voters to head to the polls on Tuesday, to cast their ballot in their local election.  The Mayor himself will be voting at 7 a.m. at the Fisher Multiple Intelligences Magnet (Annie Fisher School) at 280 Plainfield Street in the City’s Blue Hills neighborhood.

The Mayor’s Office and the Office of the Registrars of Voters would like to remind residents that the locations of some polling places have changed.

District 3 --- the Hartford Seminary at 77 Sherman Street

District 19 --- the Hartford Public Library Main Branch, Arch Street entrance

District 21 --- the SAND Elementary School Library, 1750 Main Street

Note:  The Rawson School (260 Holcomb Street) is still under construction.  The polling place entrance will be on Andover Street then proceed to the gymnasium.

Mayor Perez says, “Voting is our constitutional right and the foundation for the democratic process.  In Hartford, this is your opportunity to choose your representative on the Board of Education.”
