Assistant Chief Neil Dryfe
Chief of Patrol

Biography

Appointed Assistant Chief on August 13, 2007, by Hartford Police Chief Daryl K. Roberts, Assistant Chief Dryfe has served as a police officer, sergeant and lieutenant.  He supervised the Communications Division and the Crime Analysis Unit before serving as Public Information Officer.  A former Chief of Detectives, Chief Dryfe currently serves as Chief of Patrol.
 

In 2002 then Lieutenant Dryfe was appointed commander of the Internal Affairs Division where he served until his appointment as Deputy Chief for the North Division by former HPD Chief Patrick J. Harnett in 2005. 

Assistant Chief Dryfe holds a B.A. Degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Connecticut and a M.S. Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Western New England College.  He and his wife Cyndi, a retired Hartford Police Department Sergeant, have three children.
